About the best stuff I have found is LPS-3. You can store a gun for 3 years and it only takes one patch, fire a few caps and load the gun. Pyrodex pellets have been successfully used to ignite hybrids, however care must be taken when using pellets to inhibit coreburning by filling the pellet bore with grease. A Pyriodex pellet will burn out in 33 millseconds if you do not inhibit the core and in 66 milleseconds if you inhibit the core. Powders used include IMR and H 4198, H4895, Varget, Pyrodex Pistol pellets (30 gr.), Trail Boss, 2400, AA2015 and AA5744 (XMP5744). Everybody I've helped improve accuracy in their muzzleloaders were almost always using pellets. Going to loose powder, even (horrors) 777, will improve accuracy if there are no other operative issues.
I believe this model will take either Pyrodex or the Hogden 777 powder, and supposedly up to 150 grains (i'll probably just stick to 100, either way.) I'm read up some, but I'm not sure of the advantages...
